My English Shopping, Part 1 - Care Products

Despite the variety of London shops, I didn’t buy a lot of cosmetics on this trip, but the list for the next trip is awesome, a big hello to you, beautician girls writing about various delicious English brands from my husband :)

Boots Botanics Enriching Body Cream - Boots Botanics Enriched Body Cream

I don’t carry body cream on trips with me on principle, since I don’t check in my luggage and don’t take a can of more than 100 ml in the cabin. What is 100 ml body cream? in my case, it’s a crumbling elephant, especially for a two-week trip, so I buy body products on the spot and immediately use, without even taking them back (therefore, there is no body cream in the general photo). There was nothing besides the Boots drogery near our apartments, so it was from there that I left, carrying another large can in my paws ...
The jar is really big - 450 ml, and just for 5 with a penny of pounds (1 pound = 50 rubles). The low price for such a large volume did not scare me - privat label products are usually inexpensive and are of very decent quality. The cream is of a very delicate texture and with an extremely pleasant smell; it is not herbal, as one might have guessed by reading the word Botanics on the label, but slightly sweet, but not sugary, but rather pleasant. Some time after application, the cream stops smelling on the skin. It is easily absorbed and perfectly moisturizes the skin - I enjoyed it for 2 weeks.

The following three products I bought, as you might guess, in one of the stores The body shop. To my shame, I haven’t tried anything with this brand - crowds of girls in Russian stores of The Body Shop scare me, and I usually leave from there, admiring the shop window - I don’t like pushing. I can’t say whether the price of this brand in the UK is much lower, but I will name the price of these products, and perhaps you can tell me how much it costs with us. There are a lot of brand stores in London and the province, and I noticed that at the entrance to the store there is usually a stand demonstrating which products have a 50% discount this week. With us, in the first week there were discounts on hand creams (from 10 pounds they dropped the prices to 5, took a couple), in the second - on face cream with vitamin E (also from 10 to 5 pounds), in the third week I forgot about the store , or else you would be pleased with another review ...

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand cream SPF15 - The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream with SPF15

Description in the catalog beauticians
In general, I just walked up to the stand in the store, just look, cuddle! But, having opened the tube, she simply could not resist - the smell is simply magical! I remember my grandmother grew a lush bush with a tea rose near the well, and I often resorted to smell the flower ... For a long time there was no grandmother, and the well was filled up for a long time, and the roses probably don't bloom there anymore, I remember the smell, and every time I applied hand cream, nostalgic. This is not some cultivated scarlet or white rose there - this is a wild tea rose, with a juicy aroma and a slightly tattered bud. The cream has a thick texture, because it is terribly economical, and the pink smell complements the slightly pinkish tint of the product. It perfectly moisturizes the skin of the hands and retains moisturizing properties even after washing the hands. At the same time, it is quickly absorbed without leaving sticky traces or films on the hands, which is important - it does not oily paper and the tablet screen. I can’t even find fault with anything ... ah, I can! The composition could not be removed - this iron tube glares :) Plus to everything - sun protection, what could be better in spring and summer?

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector - The Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream

Description in the catalog beauticians
In general, I don’t suffer from dry hands, because I try to take care of my hands carefully, I even do paraffin therapy at home. But I still buy creams for dry skin from time to time: firstly, out of curiosity, secondly, but how are they even better than regular creams? Again, the hands are not the face where the cream may not be suitable for the type of skin, and moisturizing is never superfluous.
The cream is cool: it is very thick (you can see very clearly in the photo how much it gets out of the tube), but economical - the amount that I drained on the swatch will last 3-4 times. It is very well distributed over the skin, does not leave a film either visually or to the touch, not sticky and quickly absorbed. It has a good healing and nourishing effect, giving the hand softness and velvety, can be used under cotton gloves at night, I suppose that it is especially good for use in winter. I noticed that the cream also moisturizes the cuticle well and takes care of the nails, making them more hydrated and even, perhaps, stronger. The smell of the product requires special mention. In my opinion, this is a normal herbal smell, which I quickly got used to, but I know people who find it extremely nasty. Therefore, before buying, be sure to sniff!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream - The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

I underestimated the English wind, honestly! when after the first day in the fresh air I came to the rooms with a weathered face, it became clear that the funds I took with me were not enough to actively moisturize and restore my skin, and I had to do something about it. And then just - the next discount on cosmetics at The Body Shop - grabbed, of course. The cream has a delicate pink tint, an unobtrusive floral smell and a very thick consistency - which is why it is very economical. My skin just drank it: you apply it in the evening with a generous portion, in the morning - neither shine nor clogged pores, a delicate pink face looks at you in the mirror without a trace of chapping or irritation, nourished and pleased. I will assume that it is perfect for winter.

The next couple of masks I took on the network of drogerii Superdrug. There were 4 types of them there, but after reading the composition (as I said something!), I found clay in each mask and decided that I would try only 2, and I would take the rest in the summer if it was suitable.

Superdrug Mud Therapy Sensitive Deep Cleansing Mud Mask - Superdrug Mud Therapy Gentle Cleansing Mud Mask

The choice fell on this mask, because I was curious how cleansing will be combined with a soothing effect in it. The texture of the mask is not a very dense white cream that lies evenly on the skin of the face (you know, there are masks that glide over the face and strive to fall into the water, or lay in pieces). Consumption is usual, I did not see much profitability, but there is no need to smear 3 layers as well. the smell is unobtrusive, I can’t even say for sure what it smells like. Unlike the green mask, which I will write about below, it dries much more slowly, which is why you can safely hold it on your face for all the recommended 15 minutes and then you don’t have to tear it off from your face. I’m washing off, though, I’ll sponge anyway, because if with my hands, then something will definitely remain on my face, especially near my nose or eyebrows. The mask does not particularly cleanse, but it soothes weathered skin not bad. After the mask, I apply a moisturizer, otherwise the face begins to dry. The manufacturer also claimed a cooling effect - she did not see it.

Superdrug Mud Therapy Aloe Vera Deep Cleansing Mud Mask - Superdrug Mud Therapy Cleansing Mask with Aloe Vera

The mask is a little greenish in color, just the right density - and does not lie in stripes on the face, and 3 layers are not needed, and at the same time does not lie in pieces, like some mud masks. The smell has clay, unobtrusive. Like all masks with clay, it dries quickly on the face, which cannot be allowed in any case - then you won’t even tear it off with a sponge, and it’s harmful to the skin, it overdries and injures it. Therefore, clay masks I either spray with thermal water, or I put pieces of film on top of clay masks to prevent drying. Wash off with a sponge. After washing, I don’t see a special effect of the cleansed pores on my nose, but only some types of Dead Sea mud gave me such an effect, after shamanistic dances with tambourines. The face as a whole is clean, there are no new rashes, and thanks for that. But I’m unlikely to buy it again - there are no highlights in the mask.
